A team of dedicated engineers
Jeff Day
With 35 years of experience, Jeff Day brings a passion for solving complex problems and turning new ideas into reality. As founder and President of JLD Technology Solutions, he leads a team of engineers delivering embedded, IoT, and hardware development for clients, while staying hands-on with the technology that drives every project.
A Purdue alum, Jeff now focuses on business development, partnering with clients to shape solutions across low-power connected devices, wireless and Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) products, wearables, telematics, and automotive systems. His deep technical roots allow him to approach each engagement with both engineering insight and a practical, results-driven mindset.
Sam Day
Driven by a passion for automation and efficiency, Sam Day approaches every challenge with curiosity and a focus on creating smarter, streamlined solutions. As Vice President of Engineering & Finance, he leads JLDTS’s engineering efforts while also overseeing the company’s financial health and supporting new business growth.
A University of Kentucky graduate, Sam began his journey with JLDTS as an intern and joined the team full-time in January 2020. Over the past seven years, he has built experience across embedded firmware, BLE, Wi-Fi, IoT connectivity, app development, wearables, and medical devices, pairing hands-on technical depth with a strong commitment to delivering effective solutions for clients.
Leann Day
Leann Day brings a passion for systemizing and optimizing business processes, making sure every part of an organization runs as smoothly and efficiently as possible. As Vice President of Operations and Business Development, she builds the systems and support that let JLDTS’s engineers do their best work, from recruiting and onboarding new talent to supporting business development and making sure everyone has what they need to get the job done.
A Purdue electrical engineering graduate, Leann spent a decade at General Motors in Delco Electronics’ Powertrain and Audio groups, followed by several years of engineering contract work. She then spent 16 years leading operations in the nonprofit and real estate sectors before joining JLDTS in 2026, bringing a rare combination of engineering fluency and operational expertise to a growing technical team.
Jeromey Schwartz
Jeromey Schwartz is the kind of engineer who can work across an entire connected product, from circuit board to cloud. As an Embedded Firmware & Hardware Engineer at JLDTS, he leads an internal product effort end to end, from hardware and firmware through its enclosure, AWS backend, and mobile app. His client work centers on connecting embedded devices to AWS for over-the-air updates, remote logging, and live device health monitoring.
A UNC Charlotte graduate with a bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering and a master’s in Computer Engineering, Jeromey designed active EEG electrodes and a full EEG system as part of his graduate research. He began his career as a contract engineer on industrial and consumer devices before a client’s recommendation brought him to JLDTS. Largely self-taught in hardware and mechanical design, he has become one of the team’s go-to resources for everything from firmware and PCB design to Flutter apps and the cloud.
Hartley LeRoy
Hartley LeRoy pairs deep technical work with clear communication. As an Embedded Firmware & Software Engineer at JLDTS, he works on everything from embedded firmware to large-scale cloud architecture, keeping clients in the loop on the decisions that matter so they always understand the reasoning behind the team’s technical choices.
An NC State graduate with a bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering focused on wireless communication and a master’s in Computational Intelligence and Computer Vision, Hartley has been building companies since college, when he created an IoT device for tracking waste-management resources. Since then, he has worked mostly at early-stage startups, helping bring a batteryless NFC smart lock to production, leading the rebuild of a robotics company’s fleet infrastructure on AWS, and serving as the founding engineer at a stealth startup. That experience has made him quick to pick up new problems and comfortable when the path forward isn’t yet clear.
